Vaslui [RO] - Re-Opening in Sight
K. Budach - 20.08.12
More than three years after the closure of the small trolleybus system, which operated from 1.05.1994 to 7.7.2009 with five vehicles on one route, a new opening is in sight. New traction poles, which also serve for lighting, have been erected along the whole length of the 9.55 km route. A 4km extension is being built beyond the previous northern terminus to the city boundary. The reconstruction of the trolleybus system is being financed by the EU Fund for City Development and should be completed by mid-2013. An order for between four and six trolleybuses is planned. Three of the five ROCAR 217E trolleybuses are still to hand but are no longer serviceable. The fleet of Transurb otherwise consists of 16 buses, four transporters and a minibus.
