Ji`xi Hengshan (Heilongjiang Province) [CN] - Six Trolleybuses for one route, requiring only one Trolleybus
K. Budach - 25.02.13
Two new Sunwin SWP5105GP-3 were delivered in late 2010, and are responsible for providing the current Service, which requires only one trolleybus. Four other trolleybuses are held in reserve: two BJD542E dating from 2003, and two similar vehides of 2006. Where as the new Sunwin trolleybuses are kept in the open, two of the reserve trolleybuses are kept in the small depot, access to which requires the use of a "T" pole and jumper cables.
The line, predominately rural in character, is around 3 km in length, with a running time of approximately 8 minutes, linking the Dong Shan coal-mine with a terminus on the edge of the Hengshan urban area, where the depot is located. There are 24 return journeys daily, although these are concentrated around shift-change times. The line opened in 1989, but service was suspended during the period 1998-2003 when the coal-mine was closed.
The current operator is the Long Mei Coal Company. Visitors can reach the line by taking Ji'xi urban bus 23 to its far terminus and then continuing to walk uphill for around 1 km, crossing a railway line.
These news were taken from the Trolleybus Magazine No.307, thanks for the permission des Editors. The Trolleybus Magazine is published every two weeks and reports wordwide about trolleybuses.
