Pardubice [CZ] - Newest trolleys in service
K. Budach - 15.08.16
In July 2016, all three new trolleys of the 30 Tr type supplied by the consortium of Skoda Electric and SOR entered revenue service. They have locally been classified as 333-335. The cost per unit was 10.2 million CZK, so roughly 377.500 EUR. These latest vehicles have helped boost the number of modern low-floor trolleys in Pardubice, although the renewal process is not yet complete and another call for tenders is expected during the coming few months. That procurement will be designed to replace the last of the high-floor type 14Tr single units dating from the 1990s. At present, 14 such older trolleys are still in the municipal fleet, although they have been out of service during the period of the summer holidays in July and August. Traditionally, during this time, no booster services are run on lines 5 and 13 and thus the older reserve vehicles are not required. By comparison, the modern low-floor fleet in Pardubice consists of 44 vehicles, all formed of type 21Tr, 24Tr, 26Tr, 28Tr and 30Tr models from Skoda.
