Ceske Budejovice [CZ] - First of 11 new trolleys delivered
J. Lehmann - 14.09.18
On 30 August 2018, the first new Solaris/Skoda type 27Tr was delivered to the local public transport operator DPMCB. Numbered as 401, the vehicle started operational trials in early September. Branded as Trollino IV by Solaris, this series of articulated trolleybuses features passenger air-conditioning and a traction battery capable of 10 km off-wire range extension. The producer has guaranteed a battery life-cycle of 7 years. The prototype 401 is the first of 11 such trolleys, which will help renew and expand the urban trolleybus fleet. It was formally presented to the public at an open depot day on 22 September 2018. To mark that celebratory occasion, two Skoda heritage trolleys of the 9Tr and 15Tr type were also on display. Once the trials with the prototype have proven successful, delivery of the remaining series vehicles will commence.
