Pardubice [CZ] - Extension planned
J. Lehmann - 11.05.09
Pardubice Czech Republic
Plans for various new routes and extensions to existing routes are held up because road works have to carried out first. A route connecting the depot with the central station, currently served by various diesel bus routes, and a route which will connect the central station to the northern part of the system. Routes 1 and 2 are to be extended to the east to the industrial area Cerna za Bory (see drawing below).
As of 27.04.2009 route 3 terminates at a roundabout in the centre of Lázně Bohdaneč. During 2008 the route was also partly closed due to drainage and sewage maintenance road works and now it is closed for resurfacing and renewal of the pavements. The provisional turning circle was also connected to the network during mid 2008. Now, on the night 26/27.04.2009, between 21:00 and 04:00, the Trolleybuses terminated at the UMA turning point, around 3 kilometres before the roundabout at Lázně Bohdaneč, in order to reconnect it to the system and during which time this part of the route was served by diesel buses.
The four 15 metre rigid body Trolleybuses serve on routes 1, 2, 3 and 13 from Monday to Friday and at the weekend are but into service on other routes according to requirements.
The contract for the optional delivery of up to four 15 metre vehicles a y ear between 2008 and 2010 will not be fulfilled this year as only two can be ordered.
Our photo shows shows Trolleybus number 400 on the provisional new terminus at the roundabout in the centre of Lázně Bohdaneč on 29.10.2008
